Our Basketball program has started at BBIS and our teams have always
Since the start of the season I have been using digital scout for basketball stats with my Varsity Boys team. Thinking ths would be quite complicated and challenging to do during a game, it tuerned out to be very easy and actually our players are doing it themsleves, taking turns during the game.
We decided to start easy with only taking stats from our own team but son we realised we can easily take notes for our opponent as well. Using the App with an iPad workd really well and enabled us to give direct feedback to our players during timeouts and half time. Obviously, after the game we were able to sedn all stats to each player. This first time we focussed on scores, location of shots (it has a shot tracker which is very cool!) interceptions, blocks rebounds off/def.
The iPad can then also easily be turned into a whiteboard to explain plays and our goal is to start loading our plays into the program so we can be accurate during game andpractice time.
During practice I use the coaches eye app, as well as just the video fucntion on the iPad a lot to analyse movements and movements during play. The immediate feedback to the students has increased awarenees and interest with the players and has increased their learning curve.
