QR code treasure hunt:
The idea came around because we were faced with a parent teacher conference and our sports hall was the venue for this event. After some time searching we found a QR code creator that could generate a whole treasure hunt in one go. We decided to make one for grade 2,3,4 and 5 in one go and created 20 questions for each grade level. We added these questions in the generator and copied the QR-codes into a worksheet. See the picture below for the end result.
The students were fully involved in this treasure hunt and went through 20 questions, specific for each grade. The questions were focussed on general aspects of Physical Education at BBIS as well as the units we have been working on snce the start of the year. They loved it and using the iPods and Qr-codes was exciting and they gave us more ideas of make it even more exciting but none had to do with the use of ICT. I was amazed how easy even students in grade 2 were using the iPods. The students were very focussed and worked extremely well together. They were responsible and had control over their pace of learning. The use of iPods made the students independent in their learning and so we will continue incorporate the use of Qr codes in PE. It was extremely successful and fun at the same time! |
