I am starting my Track and Field unit on Monday and am looking at various ways of incorporating iPods for video feedback as well as the use of some App's. Just downloaded Coaches Eye and I am also looking at filming my own instructional video's for several of the events like starts, long jump, shot put and throws. If anyone has good ideas, let me know. Through Phil Barrett I found out about the Personal Best app that could be a great to use. Unfortunately, we do not have wireless on the track otherwise I would have used QR codes.
Will keep you informed through the blog and things I have used will be updated under the resource section. Joost Something I still would like to share with you is that during our ECIS PE conference we had a fantastic key-note speaker. Her name is Alison Mowbray from the UK and she is a silver medalist from the Athens Olympics in 2004. If you are looking for a person who can deliver an enthusiastic and engaging speech about trying to fulfill your dreams or if you are interested in sessions about nutrition, I highly recommend her. Her nutrition session gives you a different approach to selecting you daily food intake. It is simple and straight forward - just fill up your plate with lots of colors. Not only will all these fruits and veggies give you the amount of calories you require for the day but they will increase your valuable nutrition intake, with a higher level of energy as a result.
I have left the conference almost two weeks ago and I have stuck to it, it is actually easy as I love fruit and veggies and I do feel that my energy level has increased somewhat - now it might be the fact that the sun is starting to come out....but I found it worth a shot! You can find more information on her at: http://www.alisonmowbray.co.uk/ I have just uploaded lots of QR codes to our ICT page, go check them out and use them as you wish! There is also a lot of new material available under the Primary Years Program section with posters and unit ideas, more to follow!
Just have returned from the ECIS Physical Education Conference in Tunisia. It is always wonderful to have so many enthusiastic and keen professionals together. It creates an atmosphere where people enjoy sharing their ideas and have fun whilst learning from each other. During these days I have held two sessions on mobile learning which were very well received. The presentation is freely available for all under the 'conference' section. Also all the QR (Quick Response) codes we spoke about are available under the ICT in PE tab. Feel free to use these and adapt them for your own lessons as you see fit, your feedback would be appreciated!
Time is flying by and it is only two days before the plane leaves for Tunis, to the ECIS PE conference. A presentation will be given on the use of mobile devices in PE. There is lots to tell and to share and I am really looking forward to exchanging ideas.
Easter has arrived and we are enjoying two weeks holiday with our two daughters, Mijke and Elke. Doing something different than work is enjoyable and absolutely wonderful to spent quality time with the four of us together. meanwhile working on our website to get it ready for publication.
With our mind of work, new ideas and energy is bubbling up. Excited about what's next! Joost After being asked numerous times to share our knowledge and expertise it has finally become reality. This website will provide you with ideas, resources for your own Physical Education classes. We firmly believe that sharing is the way forward to become better teachers in the interest of our students but also ourselves. Enjoy and keep sharing!
