have made 3 instruction video's for a basic game of T-ball. Students have just played for 2 lessons and now get their instruction through a short instruction movie. I have made QR-codes from the movies so the teams need to scan the QR code to view and listen to their instruction. The aim is that A) Students are pushed to work independently B) learn to integrate ICT into learning C) have an opportunity to look back at instruction whenever they feel they need it. My students will play on 3 separate fields and each field gets 2 similar instruction points and the third is different for each field. Field 1 has to come up with a scoring system, field 2 has to swap teams when they get 3 outs and field 3 has to implement a catch and throwing the bat as an out. After half the lessons, the 3 fields need to share their task with the other two and teach them their rule. From their we play 1 field with all rules included. Please see below the QR codes for each field and on the right there are some video's of students in action while scanning or listening to the instruction. Students reflected extremely positive (see video below) and were able to work independently, at their own pace and all said they were better focussed on the instruction. Without help, they knew exactly what they needed to do and so..... the learning was in their hands. Powerful is the only word that comes to my mind. |
