Although it is common practice that we, as PE teachers, lose our facilities regularly it is seldom that we are stuck for ideas. Today however was one of those days that I struggled to put an engaging and interesting lesson together. No gym, no fitness room, no multi purpose room available but only the fields....normally not a problem but with 20 cm snow it is a different story. Especially if you already had to come up with various alternative lessons in the weeks prior to today. The kids had enough of theory lessons and I wanted to offer a cool, educational alternative. Then I remembered a tweet that I read a little while ago about frisbee on snowshoes. Well, we didn't need the snow shoes but a frisbee lesson would still be a good trans-disciplinary game to teach.
